5/30/2016 0 Comments A Stroll up a MountainUnlike last Thursday, today while most were at work I was not, the U.K. Markets were closed and so I had time for a stroll up a mountain, Mount Pilatus. I started off where most catch the train up, Alpnachstad, and strolled through T the wet fields and steep forests paths until coming out to a postcard perfect valley. Those of you that have walked up this way in the past will know that now the steepness starts (albeit the Forrest is pretty steep as well). There were snow fields to cross and with the steepness involved in some places this added to the heart rate increase, the last few hundred meters is all up (snowy zig zags ) while our Asian friends that go up on the train (in bus loads) look down at me with there puzzled expressions. A timely surprise when reaching the top was to see three trapeze artists walking their tightrope across a most scary looking drop below them... The Asain friends most of thought these people in Switzerland are NUTS, they build trains up a mountain but don't use them then when at the top walk a tightrope to amuse themselves, nuts! Well it was only a short stop at the top before catching the lift down to Fragmutegg (the walk down was a touch risky with the remains of snow and the wet weather we have had!), before the stroll home all the way down to Kriens.
A lovely stroll up and Down a mountain.
